Hung Le, a not so cool poker player from Vietnam wins the event#54 or $888 buy in No Limit Hold’em at prestigious World Series of poker. The played hasn’t played any game till date at any of the WSOP tournaments but certainly becomes the winner in his first appearance at the tournament.
This was the first ever gold bracelet win for the player. He collected an amount of $888,888, being winner of the title and also took home a gold bracelet. The event received 6,761 entrants and generated a cash prize pool of amount $5,403,391. Top 960 places of the game were paid out.
Being a champion at any WSOP event is incredible. Hung Le sad that “I have five kids and we are from a middle class family, we work hard for our livelihood”. The final eight was a tough group and Le (the winner) was not even an appropriate candidate to win the champion for a number of reasons.
He had not been through any game hosted by the world series of poker and hence the chances of him were not enough, but it was his day. Cards clicked through his way, the way he wanted. The 53 year old player said that I tried to come out to Las Vegas to get lucky and I did….
Final eighth places of the $888 No Limit Hold’em was:-
A 26 year old poker professional from Alma named as Michael Lech was the runner up of the game and collected $401,888, being second in the list.
Dimitar Danchev, from Plovdiv, Bulgaria was the third position holder for a total winning share of amount $297,888. This was the 19th cash for the player at WSOP.
A player from Azerbaijan i.e. Rafael Yaraliyev, was the fourth position holder for $222,888, whereas Henry Grunzweig from Berkeley gets fifth place for $167,888.
A professional poker player from New York Loni Harwood completed his journey to sixth position. He has been through many championship final tables and had won 2015 WSOP national championship. Harwood collected $126,888, being sixth.
A Frenchman Aurelien Guiglini was able to win $96,888 from the tournament, being seventh in the list. He made more than $330K from $1,500 in event last year. Meanwhile Yang Zhang of Dalian, China was booked for eighth place and got off with $74,888.
