PokerStars will be the Key sponsor of Global Poker LeaguePokerStars, the world’s largest online poker site will sponsor prestigious Global Poker League. This definitely is great news to the league, because it will help the league be more focused to “sportily” poker.

Alex Dreyfus, the founder of the Global Poker League said in a press release that the leading online poker site will be the key sponsor of the GPL. He did not mention that how long the sponsorship will got or what is the length of this partnership?

He also didn’t stated on financial terms, but he did mention that the next season of the GPL will be broadcasted on PokerStars TV.

The league was founded by Mr. Alex Dreyfus, and became very popular among poker players, viewers and poker lovers. The League includes 12 different teams and each of them can have 6 players. Out of six players four will be decided by the franchisee and rest of the 2 will be decided with other measurements.

There are plenty of PokerStars Professionals participating at GPL including Vanessa Selbst, Liv Boeree, Jason Mercier, and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier.

Meanwhile according to the media reports, pro players bounded by 888 can have a different thought on this and they may not like to associate with a league which is sponsored by their rival PokerStars.

Justin “ZEEJUSTIN” Bonomo, the professional poker player and the winner of the prestigious European poker tour event back in May this year has some harsh words for PokerStars.

He said that “it is very unprofessional to do unpaid promotional work for a company (PokerStars) which has defrauded thousands of poker, by making fake changes.

It is good to know that PokerStars had balled Bonomo’s account to their site, because of using multiple-accounts. The ban was lifted in 2009, but things are still in no good position.
